Mr. Dooling, the son of the late Dennis and Ann O’Donnell
Dooling, was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and was a lifelong
Bridgeport area resident. He retired as superintendent of
Alarms for the Bridgeport Fire Department after more than 30
years of service. In 1972 the Bridgeport Jaycees honored him
in naming him Firefighter of the Year. Mr. Dooling was a
veteran of World War II during which he served with the
Sixth Marine Division in Okinawa. Survivors include his
beloved wife, Eleanor Nobitz Dooling; his brother, Dennis
Dooling of Bridgeport; his sisters, Josephine Casey of
Trumbull, Anne Murray of Austin, Texas; and several nieces
and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia
Fenton.
